Thing 20: Collaboration

I contributed to the shared document on Google drive to help build a bank of advice for future 23 Things participants. I found this very easy to contribute to, I could view the document and see what other had written, then add my comments for future readers to have access to. It was very easy to use. An advantage of using Google Drive, I can see why this would be an effective tool to use in a workplace as everyone can contribute if they are provided with the link. The risk/disadvantage to using this type of platform would be that there is a risk of data being shared to those who don’t need to see it. If you want an accurate outcome/result; if the link is shared with too many people, you may not get an accurate outcome.

I took part in the ‘Future topics for 23 things’ poll and voted for the topics I would like to see SSSC develop more 23 Things resources for. I chose ‘new to health and social care’ I think it would be a good thing to have more information about accessing and using the SSSC website as being new to care you might not be sure how it all works.

I set up my own poll on Doodle, and I asked ‘Would you create a blog?’ I wanted to know I other people were interested as I had never thought about creating one before I started the23things digital. Here is a link to my Poll: https://doodle.com/poll/h936hb5m4cy2akf9?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link

In 7 minutes of my poll being live, I had 6 votes which surprised me – more people were not interested in creating a blog than I thought there would be.

I found the process of creating a poll on doodle easy, I was impressed with how easy it was to add in options and have settings just right for you so you could make it private or public. A Poll would be a good way to get people's opinions clearly.
